The Work Of Faith

170604WorkFaith

When do faith and work belong in the same sentence? More often than you might suppose! Jesus gives His Nike talk in Luke 17: “Just do it!” What should I be doing? That is the topic of today’s talk - where Christian faith and Christian work cross paths.

The No-Excuses RSVP

170312RSPV

Good. Better. Best. When it comes to making life choices, God is not satisfied with good or even better choices. He wants what is best for me. Especially when it comes to my relationship with God. So when God grants an invitation to His banquet, my RSVP must be “yes” and “now.” What keeps you from saying “yes” and “now” to God’s invitation? We study Jesus’ parable in Luke 14:15-26 and along the way consider how to make certain our RSVP is always the right one.

Proof Positive

161002Proof

Are you a spiritual seeker or a shopper? If you’re a  shopper, you’ll ask for a sign from God that fits into your reality, preferences and lifestyle. If you’re a seeker, you’ll ask to fit into God's reality, to know His preferences, and to change your lifestyle. We consider Luke 11:29-32 and discover Jesus’ pique when asked for a sign. We’ll also recall 3 truths about proving the reality of Christ in our own lives.

Amazing Faith

160410Faith

Often the crowds around Jesus were amazed. Forty-three times in the New Testament we find some one or some group amazed at something. But only once do we find Jesus “amazed.” In this study we learn that Jesus was amazed at the centurion’s faith. Would you like to have amazing faith too? We learn how our faith can be amazing too.

Loving The Unlovable

160306LoveEnemies

Jesus tells us to love everyone, even our enemies. What exactly did he mean by that? Are there any escape clauses? How do we go about loving the unlovable? I challenged us with Jesus’ teachings from Luke 6:27-36. We learn what godly love is not, what it is, and how to live it out.

Seeing The Unseen - Part 2

151018SeeUnseen2

How do we navigate from the temporary grief we see and experience so vividly in this temporal life to the unseen glory we experience in the real, eternal life God provides His children? Join Pastor Todd Pierce in this second part of a two-part sermon, "Seeing The Unseen." So much of what is real to us - like a broken heart - cannot be seen. Most of what we DO see with the human eye is, in fact, not real. Todd helps us to understand that the one real thing we do not see correctly is… “me.” Buckle up for a fascinating trip through the universe, revolving 4 ways at once, and moving from the “public me” to the “real me.”

Join Pastor Todd Pierce in this first part of a two-part sermon, "Seeing The Unseen." What is unseen? Everything that matters except for every thing and except for matter! We can see matter but not what’s the matter!

Confident Prayer

150927ConfidentPrayer

How do we pray with boldness - and in a way that gets answers? We consider 1 John 5:14-18 to learn that God hears our prayers, answers in unlimited ways, often before we even can see the answers accomplished.

Beyond Here And Now

150105Beyond

Living the Christian life is like those old Magic Eye books where you stared at the picture a long time so you could eventually discover the hidden 3D image inside. We live inside a 2D Here and Now created by God, Who Himself lives outside this Here and Now. How do we focus so we can see beyond this Here and Now, in which we find ourselves? By focusing on THE PRESENCE in our present - the Lord Jesus. In this talk we learn 5 things that happen when we focus on Jesus.

Nobody's A Nobody With God

141224Nobody

It’s easy to feel like we’re nothing special. Especially at Christmas time. While many love being engaged with family, many others feel disconnected. Even if you are a nobody to the world, you are a somebody to God! Last evening we looked at the first Christmas through the eyes of Anna in Luke 2, where we learn the twin lessons of purpose and peace.
